In the spring of 2013 renowned classical pianist, Sara Davis Buechner hired CreagerCole Communications to promote and generate media coverage for a very special May 3 concert/candlelight vigil at the Greenwich House Music School in Manhattan, honoring the life of Lou Rispoli. Rispoi lost his life in October of 2012 after being attacked in a senseless act of violence in his Queens neighborhood. He was adored by his husband Danyal Lawson, his friends, family, and anyone he ever met. A decades-long LGBT & HIV-AIDS activist, Lou was devoted to the people he loved and the arts.
The concert “A Mozart Celebration for Lou” featured Buechner and Lawson, a pianist and piano instructor at the Greenwich House Music School. It also featured virtuoso violinist, Stephanie Chase. Buechner met Lawson decades ago when both attended Julliard and formed a friendship with him and Rispoli that has lasted since then.
unsolved murder of Rispoli, while drawing attention to “A Mozart Celebration For Lou” and another memorial for Rispoli.
We also booked Buechner, Lawson and Chase on Sirius XM Radio’s “Seth Speaks” with beloved Broadway guru, Seth Rudetsky, to discuss the concert and play one of the Mozart pieces that was featured at the concert.
The concert was extremely poignant as was the candlelight vigil immediately following, as friends, family and Queens City Council Member, Jimmy Van Bramer gathered in the courtyard at the Greenwich House Music
School and spoke about their love for Rispoli.
CreagerCole was honored to bring visibility to this celebration of Lou Rispoli’s spirit and legacy and we thank Sara Davis Buechner for this opportunity.
