CreagerCole Helps Advise Brooklyn Nets on First-Ever LGBTQ Pride Night

This month CreagerCole was honored to help advise the Brooklyn Nets on the team’s inaugural LGBTQ Pride Night, which took place on Wednesday, January 25 at the Barclays Center. We assisted the Nets alongside the advocacy organization Pride Live Nation and the promotion company  SPI Marketing.

Part of our efforts included helping the Nets’ Chief Marketing Officer Elisa Padilla announce publicly that she is is gay in an inspiring Advocate op-ed.

“I am standing up, raising my hand, and joining the conversation. I am using my voice not only to demand change but to advocate for LGBTQ respect and inclusion,” she said in the commentary. “I am taking action to show anyone who has struggled with their identity that they can achieve their dreams in any profession, in any industry, under any circumstance.”

The first part of Pride Night included  a celebrity Panel Discussion: “Spread Diversity and Inclusion-It’s the Brooklyn Way”, moderated by Windy City Times‘ Publisher & Editor, Tracy Baim. The panel also included: Jason Collins, a former Nets player and the NBA’s first active openly gay player; as well as Elisa Padilla of the Nets, Hudson Taylor, Founder & Executive Director of Athlete Ally; and Anil Atluri, Head of Macro Distribution for the Americas at Barclays, and executive sponsor of the company’s LGBTQ employee network in the Americas. The panel generated an exhilarating & inspiring discussion and was topped off by a festive Pride-themed game between the Brooklyn Nets and the Miami Heat.
