North Jersey Pride is an organization dedicated to promoting equality, awareness and understanding in the upper Garden State. In late May/Early June, 2013, North Jersey Pride brought on CreagerCole Communications to generate coverage for the group’s thrid annual Pride Festival and several events leading up to it. The Pride Festival includes a full afternoon of unique family-friendly entertainment that brings together LGBTQ people and straight allies from all over New Jersey to celebrate diversity and promote equality. Newark Mayor, Cory Booker kicked off the festivities.
Through strategic pitching, our firm generated this coverage at the blog My So Called Gay Life and on the site, O-blog-dee-o-blog-da. In addition, we pitched and placed this op-ed by North Jersey Pride’s Executive Director, C.J. Prince, in The Record. And we placed this story in the Maplewood Patch.
We also placed two stories on WNYC New Jersey Public
Radio, a pre-event story and a post event feature that highlighted Newark Mayor Cory Booker’s rousing speech at Pride Festival. CreagerCole Communications went on to place this comprehensive piece in The Newark Star Ledger and ensure that The New York Times also covered the Pride Festival as part of its reporting on Newark Mayor Cory Booker’s U.S. Senatate run.
Most recently CreagerCole garnered coverage of North Jersey Pride’s rally at Maplewood Town Hall following historic marriage equality rulings handed down from the U.S. Supreme Court on June 26. News 4 New York covered the gathering, along with News 12 New Jersey and The Newark Star Ledger.
It’s been an honor to work with North Jersey Pride and its Executive Director, C.J. Prince and we look forward to working with this organization in the future.
