On Monday, October 24, Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund hosted the 2016 Freedom Awards, commemorating 11-years of transgender advocacy. This year TLDEF honored U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch, whose unwavering support and leadership at the Department of Justice has helped advance transgender rights.
TLDEF also honored HBO for its work on the critically acclaimed documentary Suited. The film followed Brooklyn bespoke clothiers Bindle & Keep, who specialize in making clothing designed for gender non-conforming bodies.
In addition, TLDEF celebrated Sullivan & Cromwell LLP and Kirkland & Ellis LLP for their substantial support of TLDEF’s Name Change Project. The event was held at the Art Director’s Club in New York City and hosted by Dominique Jackson, Model and Co-Star of Reality Show Strut on Oxygen.
CreagerCole placed stories about the event on New York 1 and ABC-7, ensuring millions of viewers in the New York City and surrounding areas had a chance to learn more about TLDEF’s vital work. We’re proud to promote this phenomenal organization!
